UBOS unveils
UGANDA Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has released the findings of the first issue of Producer Price Index (PPI) survey.
Speaking at the launch of the PPI at Hotel Equatorial in Kampala recently, John Male Mukasa, the UBOS boss, said the findings would help the Government and the central bank monitor and measure inflation.

Sh8b required
THE Government needs over sh8b to resettle the remaining 3,000 Luwero Triangle claimants, the Minister for Luwero Triangle, Zirabamuzale Magoola, has said.
She said the Government was delaying to clear claimants.
“We have files of 2003 and many are suffering. But the problem is that many who were cleared keep coming back,” she said.

Germans give
Uganda has received about 140 million euros from the German government, Dr Alexander Muehlen, the envoy said at the commissioning of the German House office block recently.
The house will be a one-stop centre for German projects in Uganda including the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ).
