THE Guinness Power of Goodness panelists have awarded Betty Bigombe the June award for selfless dedication to restoring peace to war-torn northern Uganda.
THE Guinness Power of Goodness panelists have awarded Betty Bigombe the June award for selfless dedication to restoring peace to war-torn northern Uganda, writes Vision Reporter.
Dr John Omagino, the deputy head of the Uganda Heart Institute, Mulago, won the September award for saving lives and spearheading equipping of the Open Heart Surgery department.
The chairman of the panelists is Rev Dr John Mary Waliggo, a commissioner at Uganda Human Rights Commission.
Waliggo said, “Dr Omagino is determined to see Open Heart Surgery equipment set up in Mulago. He has spearheaded the campaign of raising funds for the institute.â€
Uganda Breweries launched the award in 1997.
