TOURISM, trade and industry minister, Daudi Migereko, has pinned his hope on rich nations setting a definite timetable to implement the elimination of agricultural export subsidies.

“Agriculture is very important to us. Our farmers need to operate under fair and predictable trading rules. It is our hope and expectation that this conference will decide on the timetable for the reduction and eventual elimination of subsidies, removal of tariff peaks and tariff escalation and elimination of non-tarrif barriers,” he told the 6th WTO’s ministerial meeting.
