THE Police are investigating allegations that the legal adviser in the President’s office, Naava Nabagesera, extorted money from the public with promises of jobs in United Kingdom (UK).

Implicated in the scam is Moses Ssempebwa Nsubuga, a close associate to Nabagesera (right).

The two reportedly advertised for recruitment of unemployed youth interested in jobs in the UK, a statement signed by the Police spokesman, Asumani Mugenyi, said yesterday.

“Most people picked interest in the scheme, since they believed and trusted her as a government employee. She set up an office at Raja Chambers on parliament Avenue in Kampala where most of the recruitment took place,” the statement said.

Nabagesera and nsubuga reportedly charged recruits different fees.

Mugenyi asked those conned to report to the Officer-in-Charge of the National Fraud Squad at CID headquarters in Kampala.

They are also advised to ring 041-259564, 041-232359, 230448, 041-349773 and 230448 in case they are intimidated.
