THE Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) has stepped up efforts to enforce compliance of the statute.

PPDA’s board chairman James Kahooza said this during the end of year party recently.

“The PPDA has done well in ensuring compliance with the statute and regulations governing procurement. Next year, we hope to do more audits to identify whatever will have gone wrong,” Kahooza said.

The PPDA is responsible for regulating procurement and disposal of public assets.

Meanwhile, the PPPDA has re-designed its website, www.ppda.go.ug. and put more information including detailed procedures for bidders who feel aggrieved as a result of participating in a tender.

The website is supposed to be an interaction forum and enable the procurement bodies post details of their work on the site.

It is another step in ensuring transparency in tendering.
