SUPER League champions Police and Kakungulu Cup winners URA FC last Friday expressed relief after their sides were handed relatively easy first round draws in next year’s CAF/MTN Champions League and Confederations Cup tournaments respectively.

Cops tactician Asuman Lubowa asserted that he was looking forward to his side’s opponents El Hilal of Sudan with plenty of anxiety in the two-leg tie the Ugandan champions hope to settle in Kampala on February 17.

“We have a very good chance of going through to the next stage.

They have the experience but probably not better than the team we have assembled here,” said Lubowa.

“The plot is to win with a big margin in the first leg in Kampala,” he added.

URA’s Deo Serwadda, sounded equally confident of the URA team making their debut on the continent.
URA is to play a Kenyan team yet to be named.

“A majority of the players have at least featured in continental football with either Express, KCC or SC Villa and should find no problems,” he said.

There are four police teams in this year’s draw from Botswana, Congo, Uganda and Zanzibar.
