Shell hailed
KAMPALA —
The Intern-ational Union for the Conservation of Nature country representative, Alex Muhwezi, has hailed Shell Uganda for championing the cause to introduce petrol without lead. In an interview recently, he said petrol dealers were realising that exhaust fumes containing lead metals were harmful to human health and the environment.

Sisters dead
MASAKA —
A vehicle knocked dead two sisters at Kamutuza near Mbirizi on the Masaka- Mbarara high-way. District OC traffic officer Patrick Mugisha identified the deceased as Rosemary Nassanda,11 and Nakatte Kibembe, 8, pupils of Kamutuza primary school. He said the sisters were from the well to collect water.

LC5 warns
MPIGI —
The LC5 chairman, Badiru Mukalazi, has vowed to crack down forest officials who connived with residents to cut down trees. He said tree cutting had become rampant yet there were forest rangers employed to protect the forests. He was addressing residents at Mpanga recently.

Man charged
MPIGI —
Grade Two Magistrate Charles Yeteise on Wednesday committed Gerald Nsamba to the high court for allegedly defiling his seven-year-old daughter. Prosecution alleged that Nsamba defiled the girl in February last year at Naluvule village.
