Robert, a makerere University student and resident of Lumumba hall, lost the lady of his dreams when he failed to operate a borrowed DVD- player.

It is said that Robert invited a first year female student over to his room in order to ‘launch his manifesto’ (make advances). Prior to the D-day, he had borrowed a woollen carpet, a bed-cover, half a loaf of bread, a DVD-player and a 21-inch panasonic television set from his colleagues to impress his date.

On the fateful day, trouble began when the lady requested to watch a movie on DVD. But Robert had forgotten to ask for instructions on how to operate the machine.

Terrified, he began sweating profusely as the situation got out of control. His catch smelt a rat. She complemented him upon having an expensive machine. She asked Robert what make the machine was. Poor Robert could not answer.

At this point, the lady described him as a good for nothing creature before she stormed out of the room.
