Mbabazi, There Are Things Better Left Unsaid

SIR — Mr Amama Mbabazi is livid that the law does not allow President Museveni to be paid pension as a retired soldier. That is a very simple matter these days. The law in Uganda has firmly put the power in the hands of the people. The constitution was made for Ugandans and not Ugandans for the constitution. Simply amend the offending constitution and reward Museveni’s dedicated service. But let us have some little straight talk. We know what the President earns and what the state does for him. We also know his benefits when he retires. So exactly, what is Mbabazi whining about? In the meantime, the Government is sitting on sh265b in pension arrears for former civil servants who have worked for nearly 40 years earning a pittance! Mbabazi, there are some things better left unsaid! Talk of leaving no stone unturned!
