NSSF, Alcon to meet
KAMPALA — Lawyers for the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and Alcon International are to meet on Thursday to determine whether NSSF should appeal against a US$8.8m (about sh17.2b) award or give it up. They will meet at the Commercial Court to look at the record of proceedings of the matter and decide on what to do next.

Security up in Gulu
GULU — Security in and around the municipality has been beefed up by UPDF and Police patrols following recent LRA infiltration and raids in some parts of the suburbs, where unspecified number of people were abducted. Security sources said the step-up in the various security measures was to avert any terrorist attack by the LRA rebels in Gulu town.

Probe team to meet
KAMPALA — The committee which probed allegations of murder and witchcraft against Pastor Simeon Kayiwa of Namirembe Fellowship meets on Thursday to decide whether to release details of their findings. The spokesperson of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches, Dr. Abed Bwanika, said yesterday the committee will meet to agree on whether to publish the report.
