— Aduku sub-county has received sh886m from the Poverty Alleviation Fund for water projects. The area LC3 boss, Dickens Enanga, on Thursday said the money would be used to sink boreholes at Aduku town.

Bike boost
BUSIA
— The United Nations Children’s Fund has donated 316 bicycles to the birth and death registration department. The bicycles will be used for population and health mobilisation programmes in the district. The LC5 boss, Wanyama Oundo, handed the bicycles to parish heads last week.

— The LC5 chairman, Esrom Alenyo, has asked leaders to dedicate this year to commitment to service and national excellence. He was speaking at a staff end-of-year party at the district headquarters recently.
