UGANDA Cricket Association has named five U-19 players on the senior team to play in the 2007 World Cup qualifiers that start in May.
UCA released a squad of 23 players that will make the final team to the intercontinental championship that will act as a passport for countries to play at the 2007 World Cup in West Indies.
Arthur Kyobe (16), Hamza Saleh (17), Raymond Otim (18), Clive Kyangungu (18) and Emmanuel Issanez (18) were named on the squad released by the selection committee chairman Paul Nsibuka.
Uganda will tour Namibia in May for the three-day intercontinental championship and will thereafter host Kenya in August.
Former national players, Richard Sempa, Solomon Seruga, Joshua Mwanja, David Meya and Jacob Mudu were not named on the squad.
Senior players Benjamin Musoke, Nehal Bibodi, Tendo Mbazzi and Baig Akbar were called again to spice up the side.
Nsibuka called upon players to confirm their availability in two weeks or else they lose their places.
Meanwhile, the national Under-19 team continued to glitter infront of their seniors ahead of the youth World Cup slated for Bangladesh from February 15.
Kyobe and Davis Arinaitwe were outstanding at Lugogo on Saturday to force a draw against a side that had players like Bibodi, Akbar, Joel Olweny and Lawrence Ssematimba fail to prove their worth.
