THE Solicitor General has nullified the Mayuge district executive reshuffle made by the district vice-chairperson, who is also the acting chairperson, Nalongo Loyce Sajjabi, reports Charles Kakamwa.

Sajjabi recently reshuffled the district executive and dropped Rebecca Balaba and Aisha Mutesi.

This prompted the district chairman Baker Ikoba, who is on remand in Luzira Prison, to sack Sajjabi, citing incompetence.

However, in a January 9 letter, the Solicitor General said reshuffling the district executive was more of a discretionary function than statutory.

He said the district LC5 seat had not been declared vacant and the vice-chairperson can only deputise and/or act until the elected and substantive chairperson comes back to office.
