MOSES Lumala, who had been sidelined by a fuel pump problem in the first run, clocked the fastest time in the second run to win the Engen sprint at Garuga Double Track Circuit yesterday.
He shrugged off the challenge of fast-rising Omar Mayanja, who had the quickest time on the first run, by just two seconds. Despite settling for second position, Mayanja, who drove an inferior Mitsubishi Evo II was impressed by his performance.
“It’s about time people realised that there are many upcoming drivers and the gap between the big guns and us is just the money and not the ability,†said Omar before appealing to sponsors to consider facilitating new drivers.
