UGANDA Amateur Boxing Federation (UABF) has named a team of 44 boxers to prepare for a grand trial for the last Olympic qualifiers.

UGANDA Amateur Boxing Federation (UABF) has named a team of 44 boxers to prepare for a grand trial for the last Olympic qualifiers.
The team was selected after the National Open that concluded on Sunday.
The best outfit will take part in the last Olympic qualifier due in Botswana March 14-24.
UABF secretary Sande Musoke said the massive call-up was meant for an in-depth selection of the national team — The Bombers.
The ‘winner-takes-it-all’ trial will also involve the Bombers squad currently in Morocco, according to Musoke.
“Selection will be purely on merit. We are giving them a grace period of two weeks to prepare,†added Musoke.
The showdown and team selection will be the last role for UABF.
Ezra Boxing Board (EBB), that is bank-rolled by tycoon Michael Ezra, is in charge of the Bombers preparation for the Athens Olympics.
In the team are R. Mukiibi, B. Zangabo, P. Adyak (light fly), I. Keya, R. Mpanga, M. Nsbuga, S. Katumba (flyweight), M. Kabuye, M. Alidini, Y. Kintu, J. Kato (bantam).
Also on the list are B. Steven, F. Ngubo, G. Aliga, H. Kyagaba (feather), E. Akora, S. Bogere, R. Kalyango, M. Mwanjje (lightweight), A. Semakula, O. Binka, M. Lubega, M. Obin (light welter), P. Serunjogi, R. Semakula, S. Wandera, F. Muhumuza (welter), B. Nyombi, A. Wandera, T. Muwonge, A. Semogerere (middle).
