ATHLETICS Kampala, a member body of the Uganda Amateur Athletics Federation (UAAF), has released the athletics calendar for the 2004 season. Athletes have a busy season ahead of them, with 30 events lined up, according to the calendar that was launched on Monday by assoxciation chairman Lawrence Kavuma.

SOCCER: FUFA cracks
REGIONAL Goal Project co-ordinator Ashford Mamelodi has asked the local football federation (FUFA) to talk to Zimmwe Construction so that they repair the cracks in the FUFA House. On his routine inspection trip to Uganda yesterday, Mamelodi was not so happy with the cracks.

SOCCER Zittel party
NATIONAL Council of Sports in conjunction with Federation of Uganda Football Association is planning a reconciliatory meeting expected to climax with farewell party for Guenter Zittel. The German tactician leaves the country on February 27. "We shall have a meeting with Zittel to bid him farewell," NCS's John Odyek said.

BOXING: It's Kayongo
UGANDAN welterweight boxer Mohammed Kayongo has been invited to spar with former WBA super featherweight champion Joel Casamayor ahead of his rematch with Diego Corrales in March. Kayongo landed the invitation after his victory over American Martize Logan recently.
