New taxis
KAMPALA – UTODA has started phasing out 14 seater taxis from the city centre and is replacing them with 25 seater ones known as coasters. UTODA national chairman John Ndyomugenyi recently said the exercise had begun and is meant to rid the city of traffic jams and congestion.

KAMPALA – Microsoft has launched new software, Microsoft Office Systems 2003 aimed at helping small and medium sized businesses access information in a secure manner. This was recently said by Denning Ouloch, the marketing manager for microsoft in East Africa. Oulouch was at the International Conference Centre.

Firm wins
KAMPALA – MandE Associates have won a 180,000 euros tender to offer consultancy services and study detailed designs of Kampala Urban Sanitation Project (KUSP). Emmanuel Kizito, the project’s engineer, said the firm will supervise KUSP with KCC.
