A 19-year-old-student recently drowned in lake Kyoga, reports Moses Nampala.
Yzidi Muka of Senior Three at Kaliro College, in Kamuli district, drowned when the canoe he was travelling in capsized.
The 6:00 am tragedy occurred near Butambala landing site.
Survivors said the canoe was submerged during a storm.
They told the Police that the incident occurred about 200 metres from the landing site as they were returning from a fishing trip.
Kamuli district Police commander Fred Ssekiwere said Muka’s body was recovered after a search by relatives and fishermen around the landing site.
Sources said Muka failed to swim to the landing site with the others.
