THE Attorney General, Francis Ayume, should not consider appealing against the Supreme Court’s ruling on its recent decision to annul the Constitutional Amendment Act No. 13 of 2000, reports Charles Ariko.

Livingstone Sewanyana (above), the executive director Foundation for Human Rights Initiative yesterday said the Government should fully accept the Supreme Court’s ruling in the interest of democracy.

“I do not agree with the Attorney General. The Supreme Court has the last say. The rule of law demands respect of institutions and established procedures,” Sewanyana said yesterday.

He was addressing a press conference at his office in Nsambya which was also attended by Richard Sebuliba Mutumba, the MP for Kawempe South.

Ayume on Tuesday told Parliament that he was consulting lawyers on the possibility of reviewing the ruling.
