CAO escapes

NTUNGAMO — The Kisoro chief administrative officer, Abudullah Kiganda, survived death when his vehicle overturned several times at Rwentobo in Ntungamo district, on Tuesday. His car was seriously damaged and was towed to the Police station.

Man charged

KAMPALA — A builder has been charged with obtaining sh1.5m by false pretence from a teacher. Joseph Ssekandi, 27 of Ntinda allegedly obtained the money from Osinde Kusiima, pretending that he was selling a plot. He denied the charge and was remanded to Luzira.

Official raps

KABALE— The education officer, Kenneth Sabiiti, has lashed at parents who have left education of their children to the Government. He was on Monday awarding certificates to pupils who sat for their primary leaving examination at Bubare Primary School.


Taso centre

Rukungiri — The district has been chosen as the TASO centre for the former Kigezi region, the director of health services, Dr Zephar Karyabakabo, said recently. He said construction of the centre offices would start soon.

KABALE — The Police arrested a S.6 student of Brain Storm High School, Abdullah Arimanya after he was found in possession of a fake pistol and army clothes last week.

HMs reshuffled

Kabale — At least 120 head teachers have been transferred in a bid to improve the management of primary schools. The director of education, Sam Basulwa said the transfers would make headteachers strive to impress parents in their new stations.
