PASCAL Owor was in good form, finishing second at the 40th edition of the Italian indoor championship over the weekend.

The 800m star, fighting to qualify for both the World Indoor Championship due next weekend in Hungary, and the Olympics in Athens in August, clocked one minute 49.65 seconds to finish fourth in the race won by David Koronai.

The World Indoor Championship qualifying mark for the distance is 1:48.00 and 1:47.00 for the Olympics. Owor’s personal best stands at 1:47.08.

The two, who are training partners in Spain, did the front running in the race, before trying to out sprint each other towards the finish. Koronai won the battle, with a microsecond difference.
