Namagunga’s best O’Level student attributes her success to the fear of the Lord as the source of wisdom.

Maria Kigonya, 16, who got aggregate eight, proved that if one heeded her parents’ advice and teachers’ guidance, the sky would be the limit in her academic excellence.

The father, a Mulago Hospital consultant physician, Dr. Edward Kigonya, attributed her success to prayer and hard work.

“I always prayed to the Lord for success. I am so happy that He listened to my prayers. I also studied so hard,” she said.

With a knack for sciences, Kigonya said she wants to read Physics, Economics and Mathematics at high school.

Her mother, Dr. Kigonya, also a senior consultant at the hospital, could not believe the news until The New Vision produced a copy of the official results.

“Please check well, I do not want to get excited only to be disappointed at the end,” she said.
She then praised God.
