Okudi becomes hot cake
EVER since he won those PAM awards and subsequently, the two Koras, Pastor George Okudi has been a hot cake. In his own words: "I've got a lot more respect and my demand has shot up." To quench every fan's thirst for a taste of Wipolo, his hit song is not easy, but Okudi is one determined man to reach every soul. New TV show excites city
A NEW TV variety programme, Power People, which profiles the lives of successful and effective people in Uganda, "is dominating your living rooms on WBS TV, UTV and East African Television on Mondays at 8.00pm." Sounds like a trailer? It should. It's from the producers themselves. "Power People takes you on a fast paced trip through a week in these people's lives, presenting them, as you have never seen them before. Backed with features from Capital FM with album reviews (presented by Alex Ndaula), movie reviews from Cineplex and inspiring works from Aristoc Booklex, this show has taken the local scene by storm," they say.
A product of Weaver Studios, a Ugandan production house, Power People incorporates cutting edge editing and TV production qualities that are definitely going to raise the bar for local programming. The show has been running for a couple of weeks, and has featured among others, Peter Sematimba, Santa Anzo and Robert Kabushenga.

WITH both the festive and Valentine seasons well behind us, musical fetes, on which many a local musicians survive, had taken a break. But Dick Productions, who were instrumental in organising fetes over the Valentine's season, are throwing another one at us. This one is called Entujjo Ya Munna U (A fete for Ugandans) and is slated for March 14, at Lubiri, Mengo. As is wont to happen at these jamborees, the local musical fraternity will be abundantly represented. Among those expected to perform are Eagles Production, which comprises Ronald Mayinja, Mesach Semakula, Irene Namatovu, Catherine Kusasira, Geoffrey Lutaaya and Silver Kyagulangi. Bobi Wine and his zany Fire Base crew saucy will also be present as will be Ragga Dee and Sheila Nvannungi.
