ABOUT 15 more grass-thatched huts were on Monday gutted at Pabbo internally displaced persons’ (IDP) camp in Kilak county in Gulu district, about 24 miles on the Gulu-Juba road.

The people in Pabbo yesterday said the fire had left over 75 more displaced persons homeless. The Police said five huts were burnt on Monday.

In February, over 12,000 people lost their shelters in a similar inferno.

This brings the total to over 12,080 persons with no shelter.
The residents have appealed for humanitarian assistance.

“We are afraid of the coming rains. If it gets us without roofs, then we don’t know where we shall ran to,” a resident said yesterday.

Pabbo LC3 chief, Christopher Ojera, said two other huts were burnt on Saturday.
