UGANDA’s new rally star Riyaz Kurji will be flagged off 11th in the KCB Safari rally this weekend in Mombasa, Kenya.

UGANDA’s new rally star Riyaz Kurji will be flagged off 11th in the KCB Safari rally this weekend in Mombasa, Kenya.
The Alpha Rally Team leader, who will drive a Mitsubishi Evo7, was happy with his position on road.
“It is a competitive position. We won’t slowed down. Mombasa roads are not bad, I want to do proper recce and know how to set the car,” said Riyaz, who departed for the opening round of the Africa Rally Championship yesterday. NCS acting general secretary Justin Lingyalingi handed over the national flag to Riyaz and urged him to fly it high. Lingyalingi hailed Riyaz for his tremendous improvement and financial support to the sport.
Riyaz said he is determined to get a podium position.
“I want Uganda and Alpha team to be respected in Kenya. Our fans should pray for us to finish the rally,” Riyaz said.
