KAMPALA — The Police on Monday arrested two suspects who have been providing market for stolen phones. Jackson Katerega of Lusaka zone, Makindye and Richard Tindyebwa were arrested on William Street with five stolen mobile phones whose serial numbers had been altered.

New road
KAMPALA — The City Council is to turn Katwe and Queens Way roads into one-way streets in order to reduce traffic congestion in the city centre. City engineer Abraham Byandaala on Tuesday said Dott Services Ltd would construct a road linking the roads.

US trains

KAMPALA — The Government is considering paying 63 former Internal Security Organisation staff members who are seeking over sh3.7b for wrongful termination. Phillip Mwaka from Attorney General’s chambers yesterday said the government was trying to settle the matter out of court.

KAMPALA — The head of the Police marine unit at Kigo who was recently charged with diverting diesel worth sh7.7b belonging to the force, has been released. Inspector Alphonse Mutabazi, 43, who was also charged with failure to account for spare parts, was released on a cash bail of sh500,000.
