UGANDA Sports Press Association (USPA) goes to polls today with incumbent executive members uncertain of retaining their posts.
The assembly starts at 9.00am at City Hall.

The elections, that have been preceded by a month long lobbying for votes, promise to be one of the toughest in the history of the 33-year-old association.
“This thing (elections) has reached new heights, it never used to be like this,” a USPA senior member commented.

General secretary Norman Katende of The New Vision faces Sanyu FM sports editor Hussein Ahmed and Monitor correspondent Dhakaba Menya.
Organising secretary Eddie Semugenyi of Star FM will face off with Monitor FM’s Nsobya Sebaggala and his workmate Yasser Kalyango.

Treasurer Pamela Batenga will not seek re-election citing a tight work schedule. New Vision’s long-serving photographer Mpalanyi Ssentongo, his colleague Michael Nsubuga and Monitor sports sub-editor as well as WBS Spot on presenter Allan Sekamate are being fronted to replace Batenga.

However, no one has shown interest in contested for the association’s top job.
Kampala City Council deputy Public Relations Officer is the returning officer.
The assembly will also discuss proposed constitutional amendments.
