CELTEL subscribers will now save sh100 on interconnectivity charges after the company announced a new rate plan where calls to any network in Uganda will cost the same, managing director Lars Andersen said on Thursday.

“Our Vision is to make the use of mobile services a way of life for all Ugandans. Uganda One will lead the way by making communication easier and more affordable for our customers. They can now save money and talk longer across networks,” he said.

Under the Uganda One plan, the cost of a call will be sh340 a minute during peak hours and sh280 off peak times on calls to any network across Uganda.

Previously callers paid about sh440 from Celtel to other networks during the peak hours.
Andersen said the introduction of Uganda One is a fulfillment of a promise Celtel made at the beginning of the year, to make 2004 one of the most exciting years for their clients.
Ends.
