THE MOSAC-Akright rally this weekend will be a battle of the Mitsubishis after perennial battler Kuku Ranjit switched cars.

Focus will be on national rally leader Charlie Lubega (200 points) and his closest rival, Caltex Rally Team’s Kuku, who yesterday entered his new Mitsubishi Evo5 after a successful test run.

Kuku’s shift from a Subaru Imprezza to the Mitsubishi is aimed at keeping pace with TOTAL and Celtel sponsored Lubega (Mitsubishi Evo4).

Mansoor Sanya, Issa Numba, Ronald Sebuguzi, Umar Mukiibi, Ben Koyesiga and Uganda telecom driver David Kavuma have also registered for the rally.

Normal registration closes today at Chipper’s Ice cream Parlour on Kampala road.

The entire rally will be run at Akright Project’s Kakungulu housing estate. Akright Project and In-land car depot operators, Trans-sahara International, are sponsors.

The Motor Sport Africa Club (MOSAC) event is the third round of the NRC series.
