I am terrified by the guard!

SIR — On March 11, I parked my car in the Standard Chartered Bank parking lot on Parliament Avenue to withdraw money from the ATM.

Unfortunately, my balance was less than what I required so I walked across to Stanbic Bank to withdraw some money.

What took me aback was a Security Group guard who ran after me swearing at me to remove my car! This man holds the chain at the entrance and determines who can enter the premises.

My explanation that I was only going to take a few minutes at the Stanbic ATM and that there was no parking across and that I am a Standard Chartered ATM card holder fell on deaf ears.

I did report the matter to another guard within the StanChart building who allowed me to visit the Stanbic ATM. I was back and driving out in seconds.

I am however terrified of going back to the StanChart ATM as the man swore at me as I was leaving and promised to ‘deal with me’ next time.

It must be understood that the man has a gun! I think customer care of the bank should include the way the guards handle customers otherwise we will both lose out.
