BUGIRI — The provincial president of Mothers Union, Vivian Kityo, said married women should always be submissive to their husbands to build strong relationships in their families. Kityo was officiating at the recent Mothers Union Day celebrations held in Bugiri Archdeaconry. She said mothers should guide and counsel children to bring them up morally upright. Newly wed women were officially inaugurated into the union with the award of certificates.


Officers held
NJERU — The Police have arrested two enforcement officers of the town council for allegedly stealing spare parts from motorcycles. The motorcycles wereprovided by President Yoweri Museveni under the poverty alleviation programme. The LC3 chairman, Paul Musoke, said the suspects reportedly opened the town council stores and dismantled the engines of three motorcycles which they later sold in Njeru and Nakibizzi.

NJERU — The town council in collaboration with a German donor, George Heinztow, presented residents with an assortment of items to improve their welfare and income. The items included suitcases of clothes, wheel chairs, sewing machines, shoes, children’s bicycles, scholastic materials and eyeglasses among others. The LC3 chairman, Paul Musoke, while handing over the items at Bulyankuyege village, hailed Heinz for extending support to the community. He stressed the need for transparency and accountability.
