A major television deal has put Africa’s soccer fans in line to watch live coverage of more than a thousand FA Premier League matches during the next three English football seasons.
SuperSport announced yesterday that it had obtained the rights to broadcast up to 380 Premier League fixtures per season for the next three years. This is more than double the number shown on SuperSport during the past seasons.
“We are delighted to have secured this deal for soccer fans all over Africa,” Enslin said at a news-media briefing in Johannesburg.
“It will be of immense value to football on the continent and in other countries where players from Africa ply their trade,” Enslin said.
SuperSport will also show every Uefa Euro 2004 match from Portugal.
It also broadcasts FA Cup and Nationwide League matches, internationals matches in Africa and Europe, the Uefa Champions League and Primera Liga.
