JINJA — One person died instantly and three others were injured when their Fuso truck collided with a stationary vehicle. Six of the 53 pigs aboard the truck also died in the accident that occurred at Buwolero, on the Jinja-Kamuli highway on Monday morning. The district officer-in-charge of traffic, Amazia Bogere, said the Police had to restrain residents from looting the dead and live pigs.

KUMI — Armed Karimojong recently killed one person in Malera sub-county. RDC Charles Mubiru said they also gang-raped a woman and abducted two people during the attack. He said the UPDF had deployed in the area to contain the situation.

JINJA — A watchman at Kakira Sugar Works in Jinja has appeared in court over allegedly stealing a microscope worth sh7m. Sam Tezikuba was on Monday charged with burglary and theft before Jinja Grade One Magistrate Vincent Mugabo. He was remanded until April 18.
