— The German ambassador, Dr. Alexander Muhlen, has advised the Government to talk peace with the Kony rebels. In a speech read by the Development Service community director, Michael Winklmaier, at the opening of the Uganda Association of Private Vocation Institutions office block in Rushambya recently, Muhlen said the war had retarded northern Uganda.

Youth urged

— The former contestant for Kinkizi West parliamentary seat, James Musinguzi Garuga, has asked the youth to work towards ‘liberating Ugandans from bad government’. Garuga, was speaking at the graduation party of Darious Tweyambe, a Reform Agenda youth activist, at Riverside Hotel recently.

— Bwera sub-county has resolved to arrest parents who do not pack lunch for their school-going children. An official recently said they aimed at uplifting academic performance. Kasese was among the worst five performing districts in last year’s Primary Leaving Examinations.
