LOCAL heroes Deo Akope and Charles Yokwe did not need to go through a qualifier to join the team to the Africa Zone 6 championship next week in Namibia. Local champion Yokwe and his predecessor Akope will be joined by top six players after a 36-holes qualifier this week.

POMA High School trounced Ntare School to secure a place in the Coca Cola post primary schools tournament as western region representatives. Ntare School will however play in the tournament as hosts of this year’s edition. Lt. Gen. Salim Saleh’s Ngabo Academy were eliminated from the tournament.

KENYA men and women's teams leave for Rwanda Wednesday to join Uganda, DR Congo, Burundi and hosts Rwanda in a special tournament to mark a decade of genocide which led to the death of about a million there. The event will be a boost for the Kenya women team preparing for the Athens Olympics.
