School gets bursary<br>KABALE — The old students of Kigezi High school have set up a bursary endowment fund to promote academic excellence and discipline in the school.

KABALE — The old students of Kigezi High school have set up a bursary endowment fund to promote academic excellence and discipline in the school. The patron of the alumni, David Bahati, launched the initial fund of sh6.5m aimed at paying tuition fees for needy students at A’level. He said Sudhir Ruparellia contributed over sh5m to the fund.

RDC warns contractor
KABAROLE — The resident district commissioner, Charles Chemasuet, will investigate Modern Technical Services for failure to complete construction of the division offices in Fort Portal town. He was inspecting government projects in the East Division recently. The Division chairman, Eric Karungi, said the contractor was paid sh59m in advance.

LC5 boss raps strikers
KABALE — The district chairman, Adison Kakuru, has lashed out at those who perpetuate student strikes, saying they affect the reputation of schools. He said very few parents were willing to send their children to schools that were habitually striking. He was recently speaking at a ceremony organised to receive computers from the old students of Kigezi High School.

Minister hails leaders
KYENJOJO — The tourism, trade and industry minister, Edward Rugumayo, has commended the district leadership for completing a new administration block in a short time. Addressing the residents at Rwentuuha Primary School recently, Rugumayo called on them to support the Movement government when elections start.

Police short of cars
KABAROLE — The Police commander, Paddy Musana, has said the Police lacks means of transport to take them to crime scenes. He was addressing residents and leaders of East division in Fort Portal town recently. Musana urged people to take responsibility in fighting crime.
