KAMPALA — The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) will carry out a market survey to find banned cosmetics on sale. Gyaviira Musoke, the in-charge of import inspection, said UNBS slapped a ban on these cosmetics because fellow members of the customs union had already banned them.

Trader dead
KAYUNGA — Police are investigating the murder of a vanilla trader in Bbaale sub-county. Muhammad Kalule, 30, was found burning on the roadside of Kayunga –Bbaale Road with his hands and the legs missing. The Police suspected Kalule might have been killed by vanilla farmers in the area.

ERA advised
KAMPALA — The Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Syda Bbumba, has advised the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) to involve the public in debates on power tariffs in order to reduce complaints. She was opening the sh900m ERA offices on Shimon Road recently.
