KAYUNGA — chief magistrate Isaac Muwata recently remanded two men in Luzira prison over robbery. Vincent Balyejusa and Jackson Ntale of Ntooke village allegedly stole Aida Nassuli’s household items worth over sh0.5m. Muwata said they would appear in court on May 28.

Man beaten
MUKONO — A suspected defiler was recently rescued from an angry mob of Kawuku residents. Richard Bogere allegedly defiled a 12-year-old girl. He was beaten to unconsciousness but upon instructions from LC1 chairman moses kigo, they stopped and Bogere, who was bleeding profusely, was rushed to Kawolo hospital.

Relatives kill
Mukono — The police recently arrested two men over murdering their brother in Kiganda village. They reportedly confessed to killing him and dumping the body in a bush. Fred Kasumba connived with his uncle, Emmanuel Balilayina and murdered Denis Bizimana over land.

20 arrested
KAYUNGA — The Police in Kangulumira are holding 20 men over the theft of vanilla. Police chief David Isiko said the suspects were arrested recently following a tip-off by residents. He said vanilla theft in the district had increased.

Speaker tips
MASAKA — The speaker of Parliament, Edward Ssekandi, has warned the youth against bimansulo (nude dance shows). Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Prossy Nakiddu in Kisenyi village on Sunday, Ssekandi, who is the area MP, told the public to denounce foreign cultures which promote immorality.

Case pushed
KAMPALA — The case in which a businessman sued Kenya Airways for breach of contract was on Monday adjourned to next month by the High Court. Ronald Katumba sued the airline early this year claiming US$17,603 (sh35m) with a 25% interest from February last year, for loss of property on a Kenya Airways flight to Entebbe from Dubai.
