The Uganda Amateur Boxing Federation is ready to provide sparring partners for the Athens-bound boxers provided the Ezra Boxing Board (EBB) makes a formal request.
Coach Dick Katende has approached UABF for sparring partners for the five pugilists who are about to shift from Munyonyo to Kasese.
UABF secretary Sande Musoke said they would only release the pugilists if they will be available for the Kings Cup June 14-20 at Lugogo. UABF is also worried about the contrast in fitness of the two group of fighters.
“These guys who have been in camp are too fit and they could hit their colleagues for dead,” Musoke said.
Ronald Mukiibi, Medi Lubega and Asuman Katende would partner Jolly Katongole, Sadat Tebazalwa and Joseph Lubega, while Bob Steven would oscillate between Brian Mayanja and Sam Rukundo.
