Music festival in Didi’s World was not Ankole affair only

SIR— Thank you for your good coverage of the Radio West-sponsored Western Music Talent Festival at Didi’s World last Friday in your May 11
edition. However, the author of the story mentioned in passing that some fans were heard complaining that it was more of a Kinyankore affair.
This is not true since the list of the prize winners demonstrated that the whole of western Uganda was actively involved as you can see below.
1) Best danceable song: Afrirena Band: Runyoro/Rutooro
2) Most entertaining song: Ms Jennifer Muhamya: Rukiga
3) Overall winner: Rays Band: Runyankore Eddie Rush of Ngoma Africa Band singing in Kinyarwanda was one of the most exciting at the show.
This goes to prove that the show was indeed a western region affair, not just Kinyankore!
