Acholi leaders have been advised not to politicise economic projects but instead work to develop northern Uganda.
The call was made by the Gulu district vice-chairperson, Paul Ojok Kerubino, during a sensitisation workshop in Ongako sub-county on how to utilise the Northern Uganda Social Action Fund (NUSAF) project recently.
“Let’s not waste time on political talks especially at this time when we have access to free money to enhance development in our area. Leave those political discussions like the third term to the already developed areas in the country,” he said.
Ojok said Acholi politicians should not politicise the World Bank-funded project meant for the local community.
He advised the youth and women to form viable groups that can attract NUSAF funding to help fight poverty and transform the sub-region economically.
Ojok decried the rampant apathy that had led to the under utilisation of NUSAF had its headquarters in the district.
