Goalkeeper Mugisha (URA)

IBRAHIM Mugisha could be Cranes’ strongest link ahead of the 2006 Nations Cup/World Cup campaign.

His head coach at URA Jackson Mayanja considers him arguably the best in the country.

He brings a wealth of experience into the Cranes goal, is an excellent shot-stopper and not afraid to come out for crosses.

“He commands every body ahead of him and has got great vision,” pointed Cranes assistant coach Frank ‘Video’ Anyau.

Mugisha is also known for his sense of humour, an element that is strongly felt within the team’s camp at Namboole.

(SC Villa)

Omwony is one of of the main stays of the national team and provides adequate cover for Mugisha.

He will certainly have a couple of outings in goal through the course of the campaign.

Coach Frank ‘Video’ Anyau is aware of the potential gem they have in their possession. “He’s got everything, outstanding reflexes, he’s good on crosses and he’s a team player,”

He is a player who has looked assured and comfortable between the posts since joining SC Villa in 2002.Ends
