Jinja resident district commissioner Mugisha Muhwezi has irked Christians by saying Jinja Diocese Bishop Joseph Willigers is a sinner.
Muhwezi, who was speaking at the inauguration of Jinja Network for People with HIV/AIDS at the Town Hall recently, said the Bishop was a sinner just like other people.
He was stressing on the need to correct morals in the society to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS.
“You are a sinner like all of us. I will perish just like you. Nobody is clean before God, whether daily church-goers or strangers like me,†he said.
Pastor Zachariah Sserwada said Muhwezi’s remarks were “an unfortunate provocation and contempt of the Churchâ€.
