THE head of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Gulu sub-office, Pedru Amulat, has said they had distributed 25,100kg of food items to 702 households of people displaced from Lukodi camp.

Thousands of the people had fled the camp after it was attacked by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels last week.

The people were part of 7,000 camp dwellers of Lukodi camp that was burnt by the rebels on May 20 evening.

Amulat said the donation included 12 bales of 1,000 clothes in each bale to be distributed through their local sub-parish chiefs (Rwot Kweri).

He said the food ration was enough to feed the people of Lukodi for 15 days.
The people were given yellow beans and some clothes.

Amulat said in Pagak camp in Lamogi Amuru sub-county, the WFP distributed about 268,000kg of food items.

He said the donation would benefit the people of Pagak, Guru-Guru and kaladima sub-counties.
