FORMER abductees of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) have formed an association.

The Former Child Soldiers Association was formed recently with offices in Gulu town and has been duly registered under the non-governmental organisation (NGOs) Registration Statute.

The association’s first chairman is Lt. Charles Otema, a former LRA officer. He said the organisation will mobilise former child soldiers for peaceful resettlement within their various communities.

Otema said the group would also organise income generating activities for members.

He said the association would open branches in other districts affected by insurgency.

Otema said the association would be tribe and gender-sensitive.
