Luweero district CID officer Chris Otim yesterday said Ismael Yazid, Patrick Sendegeya Jonathan Senkasi and Steven Musoke were still on the run.

Iganga to pay Sembule

Court has ordered Iganga district to pay sh20m to Sembule Electronics Ltd for erecting and repairing street lights in the area.
The Commercial Judge, Arach Amoko, made the ruling after Iganga district officials defied summons to appear in court to defend the suit.

Police probes murder

THE Police in Luweero are investigating the murder of a 70-year-old woman who was hacked to death and her body buried in shallow grave near house on tuesday.
The Police exhumed Yozefina Namatovu’s body from Kiiya village in Butuntumula sub-county in Luweero.
A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Police warns pilgrims

POLICE have appealed to pilgrims visiting the Namugongo shrines with their children to be security-conscious and take care of them.
the Jinja Road police station DPC, Tumushabe said yesterday the Police has inadequate capacity to take care of children and to transport them back to their homes.
He said in recent Martyrs Day celebrations, many lost children were left in the care of the police.

Tenant jailed

City Hall Court yesterday remanded a 50-year-old woman for allegedly causing grevous harm to her landlord.
Oliva Nabufu reportedly assaulted Benjamin Opera and broke his arm last month over rent payment and allegedly reported the matter to the Police, claiming that Opera stole sh490,000 from her.
Magistrate Deborah Wanume remanded her in Luzira Prison till June 17.

‘No case’

SheikhS Ahmed Yahaya Lukwago and Hassan Kiirya have withdrawn a High Court case they had brought against a Uganda Muslim Supreme Council official, Haji Edris Kasenene over alleged sale of UMSC property, which included buildings and land.
The duo were seeking accountability of the proceeds from the alleged sale.

City okays

Kampala district council has confirmed James Sseggane as the City Town Clerk.
Sseggane, who will be deputised by Muwonge Kewaza, was confirmed on Tuesday during a special council meeting chaired by Speaker Sarah Ssebagala at City Hall, Kampala.
They have been acting in their respective jobs since November.

Four held

THE Police in Kayunga are holding four people suspected of practising witchcraft.
The suspects, who include a female student, were arrested on Tuesday from Bukoloto village following a public outcry.
Police identified the suspects as Deo Sebasambwa, Flavia Nabayiga, Betty Namuli and Betty Nalubwama.

Case back

The Court of Appeal has ordered for a fresh hearing of a case in which the Minister of State for public service, Okumu Ringa, is demanding for sh200m compensation from the Uganda Revenue Authority over the disappearance of imported car spare parts.
High Court Judge Constance Byamugisha Okumu had dismissed it in 2001.
