TWENTY-FOUR Police officers have completed a four-month training course in international criminal Investigations.

The course, under the Training Assistance Programme, was conducted by two senior police officers from the United States Department of Justice.

Addressing the officers at Kibuli Police headquarters yesterday, the Police human resources development commissioner, Fred Yiga, said the training was meant to put the force on international standard.

“We thank the American government for the support that started in 2000. We believe we shall have more of these in three years to come,” he said.

Yiga said so far 800 Police officers from the rank of constable to assistant commissioner had under gone the course so far.

He said the training would boost confidence among the Police.
Ahmed Wefuba, the in-charge of private security, urged the officers to be disciplined.
