FORMER Iganga district vice-chairperson Lydia Kibwika has criticised the district chairman Asuman Kyafu for dissolving the executive due to pressure from councillors.

Kyafu recently dissolved his entire district executive, including Kibwika whom councillors accused of unbecoming behaviour and abuse of office, promising to name a new one within 14 days.

Kibwika said Kyafu’s move would prepare the ground for turmoil in the district.

“The local community should now look forward to having more friction in council and the court cases that graced Kyafu’s predecessor (Patrick Bageya),” she said.

Kibwika was speaking at Kaiti Primary School during the handover of sh1.2m worth of domestic items donated by Tilikulekawabi Women’s Association to HIV/AIDS orphans in Magada sub-county recently.
She is the district sub-county councillor.

She said if councillors could sway the chairman at will, then the time had come for Kyafu to dance to their tune.
