AFRICA CC made easy work of Tornado, thumping them by a comprehensive six wickets and consequently handing them their first defeat in the Castle Lager league at Kyambogo oval yesterday.

AFRICA CC made easy work of Tornado, thumping them by a comprehensive six wickets and consequently handing them their first defeat in the Castle Lager league at Kyambogo oval yesterday.
Junior Kwebiiha rose to the occasion with a unbeaten 48 and had able support from Solomon Sseruga (46), Arthur Kyobe (32) and U-19 World Cup hero Ronald Ssemanda (2-16) to break the Tornado dominance.
Tornado finished the season last year unbeaten and also started on a high note this year by lifting both the Luswata and Mawanda trophies.
At Entebbe oval, Richard Okia’s unbeaten century anchored Maruti CC to a 142 run victory over Patidar.
Okia scored 101 including five sixes and nine fours off 76 balls inside Maruti’s 240-8 as left-handed Henry Kato picked five wickets.
At Jinja oval half centuries from Dennis Musali (74) and Joshua Mwanja (78) ensured Wanderers CC gets on top of the table with 23 points after beating JACC by 207 runs.
