GULU — One case of cholera epidemic has been reported in the the town, medical authorities have said. A team of medical staff led by the district health educator, Gabriel Lokach, issued a public announcement on Radio Mega. He appealed to the internally displaced people to ensure that their environment is clean to avoid the outbreak of cholera in the camps.

3 rebels killed in Kitgum
KITGUM — At least three Lord’s Resistance Army rebels were killed in various clashes district over the weekend, the Army has said. Second Lieutenant Chris Magezi, the 503 Brigade public relations officer, identified 2nd Lt Grissin Onen as one of the two rebels killed in the town. He said two civilians rescued and a gun was recovered with 30 bullets in Amida IDP camp about two km south of the town.

LRA kill two civilians
KITGUM — About 15 LRA rebels on Saturday ambushed two vehicles belonging to the Rapid Response company, killing two civilians and two others injured. The 503 Brigade public relations officer, 2nd Lt. Chris Magezi, said the incident occurred at about 1:30pm at Abakadak Primary School, about six km from Padibe trading centre on Lukung road.

MP to lead debt demo
LUWEERO — Rubaga South MP Ken Lukyamuzi has said he will lead the Luweero war-debt claimants in a demonstration over their delayed pay. Lukyamuzi, who addressing over 180 war claimants at Luwero Sports ground over the weekend, accused President Yoweri Museveni of neglecting his bush allies.Ends
